Guild info. (story to be added)
Posted by Shatak on 27-Jul-08 02:52pm
Guild Name: Heralds of Set
Guild Leaders: Shatak, Drakilla
Guild Type: Religious Order
Guild Allignment: lawful Evil/religious fanatics.
Guild Website: http://www.gamerdna.com/GuildHome.php?r ... raldsofset
Guild Forum: same
Member count: 100 (recruiting)
IC: The guild is a religious order dedicated to Set. A warrior like order however, where everyone in it must be a warrior. The purpose is to build a grand army of Set who will one day help to spread his word beyond the borders of Stygia, and of course hunt down infidels and Mitrans in our lands.
guild hierarchy IC is composed of 2 High Priests (Shatak and Drakilla) and a General (Phosfericus) who commands the army. There is a separate group know has the Serpent Guards who guard the Higher ranks of the guild and do not answer to the general but to Shatak himself (this group is composed only by ToS) There is also a new role of Speaker of Set, which is basically a recruiter who has the job to do IC recruiting.
Recruitment restrictions: We accept any race, provided they are willing to enter the path of Set. Regarding classes we donnot take POM or BS unless they are either converts or Slaves or perhaps if the person uses an alt to RP. Naturally all ToS are welcome and can be part of the guard if they so desire.

Khemi Rp community rules (still in discussion)
Posted by Shatak on 16-Jul-08 04:02pm
1) Out of Character Chat - Community Guild members are not to OOC or ((OOC)) in public /say or /shout channels and all ingame chat should be in character. OOC chat must be kept to private channels, putting your OOC chatter in brackets is not allowed.
[For me this is the main thing that seperates an RP casual guild to an RP heavy guild. For me this is the most immersion breaking thing that can happen, to be in the middle of the tavern in some indepth RP then someone just saying "((Be right back, phone is ringing))".... why? Why, why, oh for the love of god... why? Even worse is that the person who just did this thinks its perfectly acceptable because they put it in brackets, which seems to have become a universaly accepted practive. I've no idea where it came from, or which clown is responsible for it, but putting OOC in brackets does not stop it breaking breaking immersion.]
There are plenty of IC ways to explain OOC actions:
1) Needing to go AFK:
- *goes into a trance*
- *quietly contemplates life and drifts off*
- *starts rumaging through his pockets intently looking for something and becomes oblivious to the rest of the world*... etc.
2) Getting Lag:
- *Shoes get stuck in the mud*
- "Man I feel groggy, everythings go so slow, think /I had too much to drink/ took a clobber around the head last night."
3) Connection Loss:
- *Looks around bleary eyed* "I think I just blacked out for a second, got into a bar fight last night and must have taken a crack around the skull".
- "Sorry.. I drifted off for a second there, I must be tired. What were you saying?"
You do of course, if you are just one on one with someone, have the alternative of just sending them a tell saying that you had lost connection, which I think is perfectly acceptable.
2) IC Names - All community guild members must have role play names ie. no Barbdude, Killaman, Yomumsux, etc.
I figure this ones pretty much a given, but it doesn't hurt to highlight the fact that anyone creating a character to join a community guild should think carefully about what they're going to name them. Each guild will have their own view on 'nicknames' (ie. someone being called Deadpool for some IC reason (usually made up after they had just named the char something they thought was 'cool') and having it as a nickname), this may be something to have as a discussion and find out peoples feelings on it. In general (and within reason) its something I'm personally quite leniant on in other peoples guilds, though I would probably be hesitant to recruit someone with that kind of name into my guild.
3) No Metagaming - For those unfamilar with the term this means no using OOC information such as floating names/guildnames, level and class information, using people IC information on forums and RPing it as something your character knows.
4) No Poweremoting - Otherwise known as 'god moding', this can be where you force an RP emote onto someone and RP their characters response (eg. a player emoting *everyone in the room is suddenly striken with an unexplainable sense of dread*) or emoting something that forces a situation/action (eg. a player emoting *stabs in the face with his dagger*). In both situations you are trying to force a player into a role they might not necessarily want to be in, a more appropriate action would be *lunges at and attempts to stab her in the face*, here you leave the option open for the other player to either dodge, try to counter or be hit by the attempt (though you often get the situation where both players end up swinging and dodging all day long as neither want to be maimed by an emote attack). Emote Fighting is a double edged sword, sometimes it means you can be more creative with your combat, however, it becomes a problem when people rely on Emote Fighting to make up for shortfalls in their level, ie. a level 10 who cant beat a level 80 in a real PvP fight, so opts for fighting them with Emotes. This just comes down to people batting above their weight and wanting to be a fearsome fighter, without going through the task of actually getting some skills. Emote fighting is optional.
5) IC Actions have IC Consequences - Your character is not someone who's history and actions are wiped clean when you log off at night. If you start a fight in a tavern one night, then expect people to remember it the night after and treat you appropriately. If you, a level80 are in a tavern and lvl30 comes in who is a member of the Royal Stygian Guard guild (not that one of these currently exists) and tells you to pay him some money as a bribe... and you beat his head in, then expect your IC Actions to have some serious IC Consequences. To IC beat up a Stygian Guard, then you should expect to become a Wanted Criminal, if you don't want to be one... don't beat them up just because you can. Another example may be that you are in a guild that despises Nemidians to their core, if you decide to then IC'ly take a Nemidian bride.... you shouldn't then expect to be able to stay in the guild. The moral of the story is to always think before you jump in feet first....

Heralds of Set - Basic Rules

Heralds of Set
Basic Rules
In order to keep a healthy and enjoyable enviroment in the guild some rules must be keeped in mind at all time:
The Golden Rule
Be nice to your guild fellows, they will be the guys that will be healing you, tanking for you and killing stuff for you, so personal issues anyone might have must be solved in pvt messages or on the boards, failing in respecting this rule will lead to expulsion.
Basicly: Drama in guild chat = expulsion
The Silver Rule
We are a PVP oriented guild in a RP server wich means that you can pillage and plunder, kill the women and rape the men, burn the crops and keep the village but always ON CHARACTER, meaning that you cannot be killing and ganking everyone that crosses you path just cause you can. I do not want to lose a guild member cause someone reported him by bad behavior and was banned.
You cannot give the excuse that you are a RPing a homicidal maniac to excuse you behavior, this is a RP-PVP server and it applys certain specific rules that i will post in this thread.
The Bronze Rule
We are all grown ups in this game, or at least if that +18 on the box did anything that was expected to we are almost all non virgin, so we at the guild council expect you to behave accordingly. Guild council decisions are final.
General Rules
Can I apply to the Guild?
In order to apply to the Guild you need to be over 18, have fluency in english, have a mic for Teamspeak and a brain. This rule has one exception, Mahavatar does not possess a brain but we let him pass by cause he founded the guild.
(its good to be the king)
How do I apply to the Guild?
You send a message to:
Mahavatar
Azazel
Tulip
Do not come spam our forums for Guild invites, try to find one of the persons above or try to find a Guild member.
After a date is agended you will be interviewed using Teamspeak.
Why dont you use a application form? why do you interview using teamspeak?
Well using teamspeak will prove to us without having too much trouble if all the rules on Can I apply to the guild are beeing followed and to see if u have a good voice, we may even ask you to yell battlecrys.
